Games where wobbling is fine
Wobblepatch makes calm, unhurried learning games for children roughly three to eight, starting with a colour-matching game hosted by Pipwhistle, a fussy, warm-hearted bowerbird. No fail states, no timers, no ads, nothing that nags — for iOS and Android.
The first game
Wobblepatch Colours teaches colour matching. It is hosted by Pipwhistle, a fussy, warm-hearted bowerbird who collects the right colours and is delighted, never disappointed, when a small hand gets one wrong. A wrong tap is a wobble. The world's answer to a wobble is warmth and a bit of comedy: no buzzer, no red X, no sad sound, in any build.
What is deliberately missing
- No timers, no streaks, no leaderboards, no star ratings
- No ads, no in-app upsells, nothing that nags
- No accounts, no cloud, and no network calls at all in the first release
- No analytics kit. The app cannot report on your child because it has nothing to report with
For the adult in the room
You will hear the voice lines hundreds of times, so they are written to be bearable at the hundredth. A small notebook shows what your child has been practising, in plain words, instead of a progress bar. Where a voice or an illustration was made with AI, it says so.
Privacy, in one paragraph
Wobblepatch collects nothing. There is no sign-up, no email, no device identifier sent anywhere, and no third-party code inside the app. The app stores its own small notebook on the device and nowhere else. If that ever changes for a later title, it will be written here first and in the app store listing, before the update ships.
Wobblepatch Colours is in active development for iOS and Android and has not shipped yet.
